Jon Olav is from Sotra, Norway, and was born in 1973. He has a degree in computer science from the University of Bergen, Norway and works as a programmer. Even though other things take most of his time he has been interested in aquatic life since he was a child. Nature photography has long been one of his hobbies, but in 2001 it got a new spark when he decided to try keeping fish and other aquatic life forms from his local environment in aquariums. He loved this hobby and started to take pictures of the plants and animals, gradually improving on his technique.
